  1. This book is the bible book of mass incarceration. Michelle Alexander has broken the protocol of the norm and has given the educational class of the 21 Century concerning todays Jim Crow practices, especially amongst black and brown incarcerated men and women. It is a must that you come out, meet her and take the book home to study it for yourself and with your family. It will change your thoughts, life mission and your spiritual purpose. Why? Because it's just that good! Fanya Baruti, All of Us or None Organizer for the Los Angeles Chapter.

  2. I agree that this book is among the most important reads around! I assigned it in my race & ethnic relations class at Cal State LA, and the conversations it produced were so important and valuable. I hope to be there at the event, but if not, I'll continue teaching the book for many years to come!

Her critique of "trickle down racial justice" is right on!
